Award winning Madhubani artist- Moti Satyanarayan Karn together with her husband Satyanarayan, are known for their unique contribution to the Madhubani art form. A fourth-generation artist, Satyanarayan, born in the Madhubani district of Bihar, learnt this art from his mother, Jagdamba Devi. the very first artist to win the Padmashree, for Madhubani painting. Moti’s lineage is distinguished as well, and today, with the passing of Satyanarayan, she continues the legacy with her daughter-in-law, Jyoti Karn.
